To give you a better understanding of what goes into the home inspection process, I’m joined today by Brett of Integrity Home Inspection, who will be giving us some professional insight.
Brett has done a lot of inspections for my team since he began his business six years ago. Integrity Home Inspection is typically contacted by a buyer’s agent who needs an inspection, and the company then contacts the buyer to set up a time to provide their services.
The cost of a basic home inspection is $350, but clients can add radon testing for $125, termite inspections for $75, and lead-paint testing for $50. They receive payment by cash, check, PayPal, or Venmo at the end of the process.
During the inspection, the inspector takes a thorough look at the home—inside and out. They survey mechanical and electrical systems, plumbing, windows, and the structure in general.
Radon testing has become very popular over the last few years; this, in large part, is because radon is the second-leading cause of lung cancer, next to cigarette smoke. 40% of the homes that Brett tests have high levels of radon, but the subsequent installation of a mitigation system makes the home incredibly safe.
I’d like to thank Brett for giving us an in-depth look at everything you need to know about home inspections. If you have any questions or would like more information, feel free to reach out to me. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
